{"id":8,"date":"2025-11-04T22:50:46","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T22:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/samhillier.com\/?p=8"},"modified":"2025-11-09T14:43:58","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T14:43:58","slug":"black-beans-in-the-microwave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samhillier.com\/?p=8","title":{"rendered":"Black Beans in the Microwave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>10 minute black beans, minimal washing up and uses the bean juice.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 tin of black beans <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 onion (chopped)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 garlic clove (chopped)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon oregano <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chilli powder or flakes (1\/2 or 1 teaspoon)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stock cube (veg or chicken) + little water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook off onions and spices in oil for 3 minutes to &#8216;bring out the flavours&#8217; like you would in a pan. I was skeptical this did anything but it&#8217;s important. Onions come out a bit soggy otherwise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dump remaining things into pyrex bowl\/vessel and microwave on high for 10 minutes. DO NOT DRAIN THE BEANS.
